Follow some basic rules:
Never skip breakfast – Metabolism is higher when we wake up and so it burns more calories at that time. Along with it, having a proper breakfast will temper your desire to eat large lunch and dinner. Dinner should be the lightest meal of the day and eaten preferably four hours before bedtime. It is always advised to have breakfast as a king, lunch as a noble and dinner like a pauper.
Never exercise on an empty stomach – Have something light before you attack your gym. If you exercise before eating, you will just end up being hungrier. Body will have to work harder during digestion, when you do your workout after having something.
Eat more carbohydrates and less fat – Carbohydrates boost up the metabolism and it has fewer calories per weight than fat. Include more fruits, vegetables and grains in your daily regular diet. It fuels up the metabolism. Make minor changes in your daily intake, like, drink skim milk, remove fat from meat before cooking, replace sodas with iced green tea. Avoid fatty acids, use olive oil in your daily cooking. Have orange juice half an hour or one hour before your meal. It reduces the appetite. Mix water with fructose, than water with glucose or sodas. It is more effective in suppressing the hunger pangs. If you have an urge or craving for sweets, have some protein bars, instead of chocolates and ice cream. You will observe that by making these minor changes in your daily routine you will lose your weight faster and it will help in toning up your body at a substantial pace. Just, alter your taste buds.
Avoid alcohol – It depresses the metabolism and stimulates the appetite. Instead drink half to one gallon of water daily, as water is necessary to maintain your metabolism. Avoid television while eating .It confuses the mind and send across wrong signals .A person is not fully conscious of what and how much he has taken in ,if his mind is diverted elsewhere .So while having meals, concentrate on what you eat and don’t be preoccupied in other activities. Avoid pills, powders and potions to slim down .There are no quick fixes for weight loss .Go systematically and achieve long lasting results.
