Yes, you read that right. A lot of people will probably think I am crazy, but I have decided to offer the source code to another one of my best selling Facebook apps.
What’s the catch, why would you do that?
Well, good question. Based on feedback from our customers, I have found that many of you want to run these apps on your own hosting. As a developer, giving up our proprietary source code can be somewhat daunting. However as a WSO customer myself, i fully understand the desire to have control and the ability to actually extend what has been developed to meet my own unique needs.
After all, if you are using this app on customers fan pages, it makes sense to actually own the source and have it running on your own hosting.
We have released two Facebook apps here on the forum in the last 45 days. They did really well, and I really appreciate everyone’s support. When we sold our apps, we sold them cheap, and while many people raised the same concern… It was no where near as bad as what I saw in another WSO Facebook App thread.
So it made me think. What if we actually provided the source code to our customers as an upgrade. That way, those Warriors that want to host the app themselves can.
So, that is why I have now decided to offer the source code for this app.
I don’t know how long I’ll keep this up. I considered limiting the sales, but we have over 897 customers that bought the app originally that may want to get the source to use themselves.
